QARTVALLEY Rkatsiteli Qvevri
Vineyard location: Kakheti Region, Eastern Georgia
Technology: Qvevri is an ancient clay vessel, in which the world’s first wine was created 8000 years
ago (territory of modern Georgia). Wine is produced from Rkatsiteli grapes harvested in the Kakheti region, in Qvevri, according to the traditional Georgian method. Amber-colored wine is derived from the alcoholic fermentation of a must with prolonged contact with grape pomace, including skins, pulps, and seeds for 6 months in Qvevri.
Tasting notes: The wine reveals velvet tannins, balanced acidity, and a long finish. The complex bouquet of flavors is specially decorated with notes of white cherry and dried figs.
Serving suggestion: pairs with red meat. Enjoy a glass of amber wine with flavourful, well-seasoned spiced lamb, a choice cut of steak, fatty fish, and hard cheese
